The Adafruit NeoPixel Driver BFF Add-On allows easy integration of NeoPixel LED strings, rings or panels (not included) into projects with QT Py or Xiao microcontroller boards. This add-on module provides 5V level conversion and a JST PH connection for a direct and reliable connection to NeoPixel components. It is suitable for applications such as wearable devices, cosplay and IoT projects.
The board is attached to the back of a QT Py or Xiao and can be attached either by soldering or with pin and socket connectors. An integrated 74AHCT125 level converter converts the signal from pin A3 to 5V, which is supplied via USB power. The 5V power, ground and data are routed to a JST PH 3-pin connector, allowing easy connection to compatible NeoPixel strings.
The module supports up to 30-60 NeoPixel LEDs at maximum brightness. An additional power supply is required for larger LED strings. The board is equipped with a solder jumper to redirect the data line from pin A3 to alternative pins such as SCL, TX, RX, SCK or MOSI.

Light comes into the dark with Adafruit NeoPixel
