Description
Product information "DFRobot 4-channel relay shield, 4 relays, optocoupler, XBee socket, Arduino UNO compatible, 5A 240V"
The 4-Channel Relay Shield V2.1 from DFRobot is an expansion board for the Arduino UNO that offers four independent relays with optocoupler isolation. Each relay can switch high-current loads with up to AC 240 V / 5 A or DC 24 V / 5 A. Complete electrical isolation using optocouplers ensures safe operation and protects the main board from electromagnetic interference and overvoltage.
The shield is based on the form factor of the Arduino UNO and can be plugged directly onto it, eliminating the need for complex cabling. It has integrated buttons for manual control of the relays, status LEDs for visualisation and an XBee-compatible socket module for wireless communication via Bluetooth, Zigbee or WiFi. In addition, 14 digital 3-pin ports and 6 analogue 3-pin ports are available.
The module is suitable for implementing automation projects in which various devices need to be switched, including lamps, fans, pumps, sockets or door controls. Thanks to the standardised interface and compatibility with the Arduino UNO Rev3, functions can be implemented without additional hardware complexity.
The integrated XBee interface allows wireless expansion via various protocols such as Zigbee or Bluetooth. This enables the creation of IoT applications or mobile remote control in smart home environments. The galvanic isolation by optocouplers protects the system against reverse currents from the high-voltage range.
This product is an Arduino shield with four relays, each of which is isolated via optocouplers. It can be used to switch devices with higher voltage or current via the Arduino. Each relay has an LED indicator and its own test button, which simplifies troubleshooting. The XBee interface allows wireless communication modules to be integrated so that control systems can also be realised wirelessly. The galvanic isolation ensures safety and reliability when controlling devices with higher power.
