Der DFRobot Gravity Digital 1-to-8 I2C Multiplexer ermöglicht die gleichzeitige Nutzung mehrerer I2C-Geräte mit identischer Adresse an einem einzigen I2C-Port. Das Modul löst Adresskonflikte und stellt die normale Kommunikation sicher. Es bietet acht I2C-Ports, die an einem Multiplexer betrieben werden können. Durch die Kaskadierung von bis zu acht Multiplexern mit den Adressen 0x70 bis 0x77 lassen sich in der Theorie bis zu 64 Geräte mit gleicher Adresse betreiben.
Das Modul ist für eine Betriebsspannung von 3,3 bis 5,0 V ausgelegt und arbeitet mit einem 3,3 V I2C-Pegel. Es ist damit für Steuerungen wie Raspberry Pi optimiert, aber auch mit 5 V Boards wie Arduino UNO kompatibel. Der Multiplexer verfügt über einen Gravity I2C-Anschluss, ist Plug-and-Play-fähig und erfordert keine Lötarbeiten. Die I2C-Adresse kann über einen Drehschalter im Bereich von 0x70 bis 0x77 angepasst werden.
