Elecrow Crowtail-DHT20 Temperature and Humidity Sensor
The Elecrow Crowtail-DHT20 is a digital temperature and humidity sensor with a JST-PH 2.0 4-pin connector. It offers a fully calibrated digital I2C interface that ensures fast response time and high noise immunity. The sensor is characterised by high measurement accuracy, low power consumption and improved stability. The supply voltage can be flexibly set between 2.2V and 5.5V.

The sensor measures temperatures in the range from -40°C to 80°C and relative humidity from 0 % to 100 %. The DHT20 is an intelligent temperature and humidity sensor and is the advanced version of the DHT11 module. Equipped with a newly developed ASIC chip, an improved MEMS capacitive sensor for humidity and a standard temperature sensor, the module offers significantly improved performance in terms of accuracy, power supply, measuring range, response time and stability. It is calibrated at the factory and operates with low power consumption.

The digital I2C interface ensures simple connection, fast data transmission and high interference immunity. The module is capable of digitally recording both temperature and humidity data and transmitting it to a microcontroller system via the I2C interface. This facilitates integration into a wide range of electronic applications, particularly in environmental monitoring and climate control.

The sensor is suitable for a wide range of applications in the Internet of Things (IoT), DIY projects, smart home applications and for use with microcontroller platforms such as Arduino. Thanks to its wide measuring range, high accuracy and easy integration, the DHT20 is particularly suitable for measuring systems that require continuous monitoring of ambient temperature and humidity.

The integrated I2C interface enables easy communication with microcontrollers, for example via ports A4 and A5 of a crowtail base shield. The supplied software library can be installed via the Arduino IDE. Once installed, the sensor can be controlled using the example programme provided, which reads out temperature and humidity values and displays them via the serial interface.

The sensor measures temperature and humidity and transmits the data digitally via I2C. It is used in electronic circuits to record climate data. This is useful in automated control systems, such as for monitoring indoor climate, greenhouses or for weather stations. Thanks to the wide supply voltage range, it is compatible with many microcontrollers.

The connection via JST-PH connectors simplifies integration into existing systems. After installing the software library, the sensor data can be read out via a sample programme in the Arduino IDE. This is particularly helpful for development and testing purposes.
