Product information "M5Stack TVOC/eCO2 gas sensor unit (SGP30)"
It mainly measures various VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) and H2 in the air. It can be programmed to recognise TVOC (total volatile organic compounds) and eCO2 (equivalent carbon dioxide value) concentration measurements.
The typical measurement accuracy is 15% within the measurement range. The measured value of the SGP30 is internally calibrated and output, which ensures long-term stability. The SGP30 communicates via the I2C protocol with an on-chip humidity compensation function that can be activated via an external humidity sensor.
If you want to obtain accurate results, you must calibrate using a known measurement source. The SGP30 has an integrated calibration function. In addition, eCO2 is calculated based on H2 concentration and cannot fully replace "real" CO2 sensors for laboratory use.
