Product information "seeed Grove - Encoder"
This module is an incremental encoder with Grove interface that generates an electrical pulse signal when the axis rotates. The Grove encoder is part of the Grove series and has a standardised Grove interface. It can be used in projects where a rotatable input option is required, for example as a volume control or for navigation in menus. The design allows 360-degree rotation. Although the encoder could also generate a signal when pressed down, this is not output due to the limitations of the Grove signal connection.
This module is used to convert rotary movements into digital signals. The encoder recognises the direction of rotation and speed and outputs corresponding electrical pulses. It is suitable for user interfaces, controls and selection functions. Thanks to the Grove interface, the encoder can be easily integrated into common microcontroller projects. Applications include control controllers, menu control panels or analogue simulations of potentiometers.
The encoder is used to translate rotary movements into electrical signals. These signals can be used, for example, to control a volume control, for menu selection or for navigation in applications.
