Product information "seeed Grove - Gesture sensor (PAJ7620U2)"
The Grove - Gesture is based on the PAJ7620U2 sensor, which integrates gesture recognition into a single chip via a common I2C interface. The sensor can recognise up to 13 different gestures, including movements such as up, down, left, right and various circulation gestures. In addition, proximity detection is integrated to recognise the approach of an object in the range of 5 to 10 cm. The sensor supports two operating modes for different gesture recognition speeds: Normal mode and Gaming mode. The module is compatible with various development platforms such as the Arduino Uno, Seeeduino or the Arduino Mega2560. Power is supplied via 5 V. The compact dimensions of 20 × 20 mm enable easy integration into various projects.
The sensor can be used for contactless control of devices. Typical applications include volume control by hand gesture, the control of robots or the implementation of a gesture-based remote control system. Thanks to the integrated I2C interface, the sensor can be connected directly to microcontrollers. The module is optimised for simple hand movement detection and also reacts in environments with high light intensity of up to 100,000 lux. The product enables electronic projects to be controlled by hand movements without the need for physical buttons. Gestures such as swiping or circling in front of the sensor are interpreted and can trigger actions in the software. This is suitable for applications where hygiene, comfort or design require touchless operation.
