The Grove - BMP280 I2C and SPI Temperature and Barometer Sensor is based on the Bosch BMP280 and enables precise measurement of air pressure and temperature. The sensor supports both I2C and SPI communication. A special BMP280 library is available for use with Arduino. The sensor measures air pressure in the range from 300 to 1100 hPa with an absolute accuracy of ±1.0 hPa. The temperature can be measured in the range from -40 °C to 85 °C with an accuracy of ±1 °C. Due to the pressure measurement, the sensor can also be used as an altimeter with an accuracy of ±1 m.
The Grove BMP280 allows you to choose between two I2C addresses (0x77 and 0x76). Communication via SPI can be activated by desoldering the bonding pads on the back. The module can be used directly via the Grove interface and supports simple connection to microcontroller platforms.
Typical applications include weather stations, altitude measurements and general environmental data acquisition. The combination of low current consumption of 0.6 mA and flexible communication interface makes the module suitable for a wide range of applications in the field of electronics development and sensor integration.
The sensor is used for the precise measurement of ambient pressure and temperature. The data can be used to derive altitude information. The high measurement accuracy enables use in weather-dependent projects and for position detection via changes in air pressure.
