Product information "seeed Grove - LoRa Radio 868MHz"

Seeed Grove - LoRa Radio 868MHz
The Grove - LoRa Radio 868MHz module is based on the RFM95 module, which uses the SX1276 chip and was specially developed for long-range applications. The module enables ultra-long-range spread spectrum communication with high interference immunity and low power consumption. At the centre of the module is the ATmega168 microcontroller, which is known for its high efficiency and performance and is particularly suitable for energy-efficient applications.

The module is equipped with a simple wire antenna, which is used for signal transmission. If the received signal is not sufficient, an additional external high-performance antenna with MHF interface can be connected via the existing MHF connection. For optimum performance, the antenna should be positioned perpendicular to the circuit board and as straight as possible. Large metal objects near the antenna and metal housings are not recommended as they can negatively affect the signal quality.

The product is used to expand Grove systems with a radio module for long-range wireless communication in the 868 MHz band. It is particularly suitable for IoT applications in which reliable data transmission over long distances is required. These include sensor networks, building automation, agricultural monitoring and other wireless embedded applications, and the integrated UART connection enables easy connection to microcontroller platforms. Current consumption averages approximately 28 mA for continuous transmission at +20 dBm, approximately 8.4 mA in standby mode and approximately 20 mA in receive mode at a bandwidth of 500 kHz.

The module provides a communication interface based on UART, operates with an input voltage of 3.3 V or 5 V and has a power output of +20 dBm, which corresponds to 100 mW. Thanks to the Grove system, the module can be integrated directly into existing projects. It can be used for a wide range of long-range applications in the field of wireless communication. The structure with the ATmega168 ensures a compact design and low power consumption during operation. The combination of internal antenna and external expandability allows flexible adaptation to various application scenarios.
