Product information "seeed Grove - SPDT relay (30A)"
The Grove - SPDT relay (30A) is a single pole double throw relay consisting of a coil, a common connection (COM), a normally closed (NC) and a normally open (NO) contact. In the idle state (not energised) there is a connection between COM and NC. If the coil is energised, the connection switches to COM and NO. The relay is designed for a coil voltage of 5 V and can switch currents of up to 30 A at 250 VAC or 30 VDC. It is suitable for controlling AC consumers or powerful DC devices.
Relays are used when devices with a higher current or voltage that cannot be controlled directly with a microcontroller need to be switched. They function as electrically controllable switches. The SPDT relay presented here can switch between two circuits and thus control two different loads. The Grove-compatible connection allows easy integration into Grove systems. The product can be used in numerous applications, for example to control heaters, fans, air conditioning systems, cooling systems or other household and automotive components. The high switching capacity of 30 A extends the range of applications to devices with high current consumption, such as headlights or fans. Thanks to the integrated Grove interface, the relay can be integrated into electronic systems without additional wiring.
