The SenseCAP Watcher from Seeed Studio is a revolutionary AI-powered solution designed to enable a variety of interactions and monitoring tasks in smarter environments. It is equipped with the powerful ESP32-S3 microcontroller and integrates a Himax WiseEye2 HX6538 AI chip based on the Arm Cortex-M55 & Ethos-U55. Equipped with a camera, microphone and loudspeaker, the SenseCAP Watcher can not only capture visual and acoustic information, but can also be controlled by voice input and react to events by voice. Thanks to the integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) into the SenseCraft suite, the Watcher is able to understand complex commands, perceive its environment and act accordingly. The flexible and expandable architecture allows users to combine the Watcher with over 100 Grove sensors, making it a versatile multi-sensor system for a wide range of use cases.
A highlight of the SenseCAP Watcher is its ability to understand scenes. It recognises what is happening in its environment and analyses the behaviour of the detected objects. This function enables it to recognise, for example, whether a dog is tearing up paper or whether a certain person is entering the room. By using AI models directly on the device and combining them with powerful LLMs, the Watcher is able to provide differentiated and cost-effective analyses, as LLM resources are only used for specific events.
