What are biometric sensors?
Biometric sensors, like almost all types of sensors, capture data that is further used to make external circumstances measurable. Biometric sensors collect data that can be used to measure biological and physical characteristics of individuals. This data is used to identify specific individuals and varies by person. For example, fingerprints are biometric parameters to distinguish people from each other.
What can biometric sensors do?
Biometric sensors capture biometric data, such as a fingerprint, and can compare this data in real time with that stored in the integrated algorithm. Conversely, biometric sensors can detect whether the person is a human being and compare whether the person's data matches that stored in the algorithm. With the help of biometric sensors, you can secure your projects so that only you or certain people can access them. The most common form is the fingerprint sensor. Whether it is to secure data, safes or other objects, biometric sensors are a very good way to provide more security.
What is the advantage?
Biometric sensors have the advantage that you do not have to resort to passwords or codes, but to features that you carry with you anyway. If you want to secure your projects biometrically, fingerprint sensors are the most common. What biometric sensors are available?

These sensors often find their application in high-security areas. In addition to sensors designed to secure projects and objects, there are other sensors that measure biometric characteristics. Heartbeat sensors are also biometric sensors and can measure heart rate to alert to possible discrepancies or irregularities.
What to look for when buying?
When it comes to biometric sensors, it's important that you check the application area very carefully to buy the right sensor. Biometric sensors are super useful, save remembering passwords and are fast, but are not 100% secure as even a fingerprint can be reproduced. In cases where a high level of security should be ensured, multi-level authentication methods are recommended.
