At the same time, the device is powerful enough for curtains weighing up to 8 kilograms. Speaking of power, you can use the SwitchBot Curtain for a whopping 8 months thanks to its powerful battery. Only then does the battery need to be recharged.
So that you can easily retrofit your smart home with the SwitchBot Curtain, the manufacturer has specially developed three different variants of the curtain robot. The Rod version is suitable if your curtains are attached to a curtain rod. For curtains with curtain rollers, on the other hand, the U-version is predestined. If you have the rather less common I-rails installed in your home, the I-version is a good choice. The installation of the Smart Home module requires comparatively little effort and can easily be carried out even by laymen. In most cases, installation takes just 30 seconds. The subsequent configuration, which is carried out with the help of the SwitchBot smartphone app and includes precise calibration, takes only a few minutes.
Of course, the SwitchBot Curtain can be embedded into an existing SwitchBot ecosystem without any problems. However, the SwitchBot Hub Mini is required for this purpose. The module serves as a smart home control center and is controlled with an IR remote control. To get started, the Hub Mini simply needs to be connected to a router via WLAN; automations can then be generated via the app.
By the way: If you are a Homebridge user, you can integrate your SwitchBot Curtain - as well as all other smart home modules of the manufacturer - into your Apple HomeKit environment. To do so, you just need to install the corresponding plugin via the Homebridge Config UI interface. You can also use SwitchBot's devices in conjunction with the open-source Home Assistant smart home platform.
