The Teensy is an amazing and compact development platform in a breadboard-friendly form factor, but what if you could integrate it into the Arduino architecture? The Teensy Arduino Shield Adapter allows you to connect your Teensy and use your favourite Arduino shields without the need for a breadboard or complicated wiring. Needless to say, the Teensy Arduino Shield Adapter is a useful tool for upgrading all of your existing Arduino projects to a more powerful controller!
As we mentioned earlier, the Teensy Arduino Shield Adapter provides basic Arduino compatibility with your regular shield, but there are a few other fun features we've added as well. These include an RTC (Real Time Clock) battery, a JST battery connector, a 4-12 V female connector, an ICSP header and more. Since this board is simply an adapter, no special programming is required to work with the adapter. However, you will need to program the Teensy for each Arduino shield you want to work with.
While the design of the adapter fits the footprint of the Teensy LC, it was developed to take full advantage of the features of the Teensy 3.1. Not all functions available on the adapter are compatible with the LC. Therefore, please be sure to check the hookup instructions in the Documents section below to ensure functionality for your project. Please note that this adapter may be incompatible with some 5V Arduino shields. Please see our Hookup Guide for more information.
Note: The Teensy Arduino Shield Adapter comes as a kit and must be soldered together.
